The 10 yard container is the workhorse for projects that are real but contained. It holds roughly the equivalent of three pickup truck loads, which is enough for a single room renovation, a garage cleanout, or a small roofing job, while still fitting on most residential driveways in Altamont, OR.
Because the container is compact, it is also a smart choice for dense materials like concrete, brick, and dirt. Heavy debris fills weight allowances long before it fills volume, so a smaller container keeps the load manageable and safe to transport.
Dimensions and what fits
A 10 yard roll-off typically measures about 12 feet long, 8 feet wide, and around 3.5 feet high, though exact dimensions vary slightly by container. The low walls make loading easy. Most people can toss debris over the side without ladders or ramps, which saves time and reduces strain.
Typical loads include bathroom remodel debris, old carpet and padding from a few rooms, a small deck teardown, or the contents of a cluttered garage. If your project involves a full kitchen, multiple rooms, or bulky furniture, a 15 or 20 yard container will likely serve you better.
What customers load most
Why homeowners and contractors choose the 10 yard
The compact size fits where larger containers cannot, including narrow driveways, tight alleys, and urban lots throughout Altamont, OR. It also leaves more room for vehicles and foot traffic around the property, which matters when you still need to use your driveway during the rental.
For heavy material jobs, the 10 yard is often the recommended choice. Concrete patio removal, brick tear-outs, and tile demolition generate dense debris, and keeping those loads in a smaller container helps stay within weight guidelines. Tell us what you plan to load and we will confirm it is the right fit.
I was sure I needed something bigger, but the 10 yard handled our whole bathroom gut and still fit beside my car.
What people ask us
Is a 10 yard dumpster big enough for a kitchen remodel?
It can handle a small kitchen, but full kitchens with cabinets and countertops often need a 15 or 20 yard container.
Can I fill a 10 yard with concrete?
Concrete is heavy, so the container may reach its weight allowance before it is full. Call us to plan the load safely.
Will it block my garage?
Placement depends on your driveway layout. We will discuss positioning so you keep as much access as possible.
